iLive Music launches an independent soul podcast

iLive Music, the parent company of iLive Radio have launched a brand new podcast focusing on independent soul and soul infused music. The iLive 5X5 is a joint venture between Toronto based iLive Music & the Independent Hype based out in the UK. The iLive 5×5 is a compact 10 minute journey through the latest hot sounds in the world of independent soul music, including segments such as the Hot 5, Artist of the week & Feature Friday.

Chief Strategist for iLive Music, Jason Henry explains, ‘..the idea was spawned from us, as a radio station, trying to hunt for a news based segment to add to our content. We came across a substantial amount of blogs and vlogs but nothing that we could download and add to our content. In speaking to our partner Anthony Outkast of Independent Hype, we came up with the idea of the collaboration, using content from his website and our own resources to put together our own music news podcast. We engaged the considerable talents of  Miss Kerr from the Hook & Co, who has been invaluable in helping us putting this together, editing and voicing the podcast’.

iLive Music hope to further the develop the concept to possibly create more local focused sister podcasts, Jason Henry continues ‘..iLive has always been focused on highlighting and promoting lesser known artists and new releases, this project is just an additional avenue to continue that mantra. Now comes the challenge of marketing and promoting the podcasts themselves…’
